watching you , watching me....

Wandering down George Street , wondering how many cameras are watching. Interesting to note that:
The majority of cameras seem to be installed by business & corporations. I wonder how easy it is for Police or other authorities to access the data they collect?
Whilst St George bank had a large number of cameras both at the entrance & inside one of their branches, I could not see any near the Arab Bank of Australia!

Sydney Fish Market

Chikkins update

Sadly Bubble died, she had been unwell for a few days, and died one night in her sleep. I miss her sassy ways, but needless to say , her relatives do not.
A few weeks ago , I picked up a box that had at some stage contained Penfold's Grange. Michael has converted it into a nesting box, Eggkea he called it!

Chikkins update

Ethel has now laid her first eggs, she is quiet & unboastful about the events as they occur.
We were listening to Radio Eye on Saturday, about the Sex Pistols. Suddenly the girls were lining up along the back door step as if they were listening to the programme. Bubble , the little white one, has a punk-like hair do. I have just noticed a dusting of feathers on her feet so I think she must have a Japanese Silkie DNA bundle in there . The other two must have Seabright. Look them up if you are interested.

Shifting Sands

While we were dining at Bondi , a somewhat surreal series of events was taking place on the pavement overlooking the beach. It involved trucks and little earth movers, big piles of sand & little piles of sand. It was most mystifying, that so many machines would be needed to move sand AT THE BEACH!!! Anyway, I think Jenny & I could have done it all in 20 minutes with 2 shovels & a bucket each.
Put the cursor over each photo for the caption!

The New Garden Staff

In the front is the mother,
Telur. (Indonesian for egg, she is the only one laying just yet)

This is Bubble (As in AB Fab) The speckled one is Ethel, who worries about being at the bottom of the pecking order. The other 2 try to ignore her, why worry about a pecking order when you have a human as well trained as I am?
So now they are let out when we are home

And their supervisor, now recovering slowly:

Some more photos of our new family!

Well finally we tracked some down in Enfield. They are no particular breed as far as I know, mother & 2 daughters. They settled into ripping up the grass, and enjoyed the kitchen scraps, especially as I put in a treat of some fresh grapes! When I got home from work they were sorting out the sleeping arrangements.
At present they are quiet, they make funny little whirring noises! Mother was checking out the planes overhead but seeing as they are not competitors for the tucker, she has relaxed!
No, I do not know what their names are yet, I am sure they will tell me soon!

Ain't no-one here but us chickens

Some early photos from the phone.

Cockatoo Island

Long term visitors to this blog may recall that Michael & I took a tour of Cockatoo Island last year. (See February 2006 archives)
Well now you don't have to book a tour, the ferry service now stops there, about once an hour. And you can do your own tour, if you wish.
So I went with my nephew, Leo, who visited from Perth.

Still no hens!

The chook house looks so sad & empty. The vegie patch has been wonderful but is due for a bit of replanting:

Hopefully we will get some chooks soon! And that pumpkin that is about to climb the fence needn't think it is going anywhere.
